Nick DeVito II of Ian Black Real Estate named SIOR Florida Chapter President

He will serve as the Chapter President for the 2024-2025 chapter year

SARASOTA, Fla. (Nov. 13 2024) – Nick DeVito II, SIOR, of Sarasota-based Ian Black Real Estate was recently named the chapter president for the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR) Florida Chapter. DeVito will serve as president for the 2024 – 2025 chapter year and oversee 11 regional chapters in Florida, including Miami-Dade, Tampa Bay and Northeast Florida.

“I’m honored to serve as the president of the second largest SIOR chapter in the world,” said DeVito, partner at Ian Black Real Estate. “In this role, I hope to grow the chapter with high-quality members and create an environment where members work together to elevate each other, our companies, our clients and the profession.”

SIOR is a Washington, DC-based international professional organization with more than 4,000 members worldwide who have earned the SIOR designation. Individuals who hold the SIOR designation are top producers in the commercial real estate field. To achieve the SIOR designation, candidates must have completed at least five years of creditable experience in the highly specialized field of industrial and office real estate; met stringent education requirements; and demonstrated professional ability and ethical conduct.

Real estate professionals who have earned the SIOR designation are recognized by corporate real estate executives, commercial real estate brokers, agents, lenders, and other real estate professionals as the most capable and experienced brokerage practitioners in any market.

“Earning the SIOR designation sets commercial real estate professionals apart as the best of the best in office and industrial real estate,” said DeVito. “It should also speak volumes to local businesses that anyone who has earned the SIOR designation will benefit them and their companies as they assist with their commercial real estate needs.”

DeVito earned his SIOR designation in 2018 and at that time was the only practicing commercial real estate broker in the Sarasota/Manatee market to hold this designation. He joined Ian Black Real Estate in 2010 and was named a partner in 2016.

His relationship with SIORs at national brokerages across the country has served as the springboard for several large deals in the market, including the sale of a 130,000-square-foot warehouse in Sarasota for $13.75 million.  DeVito’s current listings include two 188,000-squre-foot warehouses at Manatee County Logistics Center and two warehouses totaling 178,000 square feet at Gates Creek Corporate Center in Lakewood Ranch.

“Nick serving as the Chapter President of SIOR is a pride point for our office,” said Ian Black, partner at Ian Black Real Estate. “We encourage our brokers to be involved in what is going on locally and beyond. Nick serving in this role gives us a global view of politics and the commercial real estate market and helps our brokers better serve our clients in Sarasota and Manatee counties.”

To date, four brokers at Ian Black Real Estate hold the SIOR designation including DeVito, Jag Grewal, CCIM, Melissa Harris and Brie Tulp, RPA®.
