Ian Black Real Estate hires four, growing Sarasota team.

SARASOTA, Fla. (Jan. 12, 2026) – Ian Black Real Estate, a premier commercial real estate firm based in Sarasota, Fla., has hired four new employees. Joining the firm’s property management division are Building Engineers James Smith and Jeremy Turman, and Facilities Maintenance Technician Derryl Wilkinson. Also joining the firm is Marketing Assistant Caitlyn Bench, who will provide marketing support to the sales team.
“We’re thrilled to welcome several new faces to our team and are excited for what their expertise and knowledge will bring our clients in 2026 and beyond,” said Marci Marsh, partner at Ian Black Real Estate. “Each of these individuals bring a unique skillset that will support our team and our clients as we continue to grow our presence in the Sarasota-Bradenton market.”
Ian Black Real Estate offers a full spectrum of commercial real estate services – including sales, leasing and property management – in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The 15-person property management division currently manages a portfolio totaling over 2.3 million square feet of office, retail and industrial space.
As building engineers, Smith and Turman and will oversee day-to-day operations at the properties that Ian Black Real Estate manages, including coordinating repairs, inspections and managing tenant build-outs. They bring more than 45 years of combined experience to the team. Smith previously served as a facilities coordinator for TriNet and Turman for a 400-unit resort-style condominium on Siesta Key.

Smith echoed this sentiment, adding that Ian Black Real Estate is “one large family working in many areas, yet coming together to accomplish the same goals.”
Wilkinson brings an additional 40 years of experience with him and will oversee property maintenance and repairs. Prior to joining Ian Black Real Estate, he served as the main electrician and maintenance technician for Tervis.
In addition to growing the property management division, Caitlyn Bench joins the firm to provide marketing support to the sales team. She will work alongside Marketing Director Jordan Gorrell to create marketing materials for print, digital and online platforms. Prior to joining Ian Black Real Estate, she served as sales and marketing specialist for Jupiter Marine International.

Bench earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.
